2. Information you provide
Account registration may collect a name, display name, username, email address, password hash, language preference, theme preference and optional profile image. Learning features may store lesson completion, quiz results, exam attempts, selected answers, time used, saved papers, translation history and related progress records. Elite Membership features may store the account tier, selected plan, activation date, expiry date and the administrator who applied the latest change. PDF Contributions may store the uploaded PDF, original filename, title, notes, optional source URL, file hash and size, rights confirmation, review decision, administrator note, Reward Credit ledger and subscription-claim history. When AI Tutor is used, the website stores conversation titles, user messages, AI responses, model name, token usage, estimated provider cost, request status, errors and monthly AI Credit usage records. The public contact form stores the name, email, topic, message, time and a one-way hash used for abuse prevention.
3. Automatically collected information
The website and hosting provider may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, requested page, referring page, date, time and diagnostic events. Logged-in activity may be connected to an account so progress reports and security records can function. Public blog reading does not require an account.
4. Cookies and local storage
JP From Zero may use first-party cookies or browser storage for sessions, security tokens, login state, language, theme, saved interface preferences and temporary learning state. Disabling essential cookies can prevent account, exam or form features from working correctly.
5. Google AdSense and third-party cookies
JP From Zero may display advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or similar identifiers to serve, measure and personalise ads, subject to applicable law and user consent choices. Third-party vendors may place or read cookies on a visitor’s browser as a result of ad serving. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this website and other websites. Visitors can manage personalised advertising through Google’s advertising settings and may also use applicable industry opt-out tools.
6. Consent and regional requirements

8. Service providers and disclosures
Information may be processed by hosting, authentication, database, email, AI, analytics, security or advertising providers only as necessary to operate the website. A PDF submission sends an email notification containing its metadata and an Admin review link to admin@jpfromzero.com.lk; the PDF itself is not attached and remains in protected website storage. AI Tutor prompts are sent server-to-server to Anthropic for response generation; the Anthropic API key is not sent to the user’s browser. AI conversations and submitted PDFs may be reviewed by authorised administrators for moderation, support, safety, abuse prevention and service-quality purposes. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or during a legitimate transfer of the website. Google account sign-in, when enabled, is governed by Google’s own privacy terms in addition to this policy.
9. Data retention
Account, learning, PDF contribution, Reward Credit, subscription claim and AI Tutor records may be retained while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for progress, moderation, support, quota enforcement, financial-style audit integrity, backup, security and reporting. Uploaded files may be purged after rejection, withdrawal, account deletion or an administrative retention decision while an audit record remains where necessary. Contact messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, improve the website or meet legal obligations. Backups may retain deleted information for a limited period before normal rotation removes it.
10. Security
The website uses measures such as HTTPS, password hashing, session controls, CSRF protection, restricted data directories and access controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users should use a strong, unique password and avoid sharing sensitive personal documents through general contact forms.
11. Children
The website is intended as a general educational resource. Users who are not legally able to manage an account or consent in their location should use the service with a parent or guardian. The website does not knowingly request unnecessary sensitive information from children.
12. Your choices and requests

A signed-in user can permanently delete their account and website learning records from the Delete Account section in My Account.
